About this edition
The twelfth piece of the Album fur die Jugend ("Knecht Ruprecht"/Santa Claus), a dramatic, minor-key depiction of the German St. Nicholas's-companion figure -- one of the more technically demanding numbers in the collection's first half.
Break the piece into its 16th-note passages and the more chordal sections separately -- at 72 measures and tempo 126 this is a multi-session piece, not a one-sitting read.
